Avon haul and products review!

I recently had a little splurge in my Avon catalogue as there were loads of products that looked great. The downfall of a catalogue is that I want to buy EVERYTHING! So I had to set myself a limit on spending, which was only £20... and for that £20 I got all of this.... :D

I was really impressed at how much I got for the money. And after trying everything, I love it all!!
So, I got: (Pictures below!)

1. Speed dry 30 seconds Nail Polish in 'Presto Plum' (12ml)
This is a really lovely dark purple colour, it genuinely dries in 30 seconds and is very good quality. It was £3 and for a large 12ml bottle I was very pleased. It will be a great colour for autumn/winter.

2. Avon 'Rare Diamonds' fragrance (50ml)
I picked this out at random for a pleasant fragrance that I could wear out and about and not feel too guilty about wasting my expensive perfume. Its a really classic, but fresh, scent and suitable for day or night. It was only £8

3. ColorTrend Lipstick in 'Peony'
This is such a lovely colour. A plummy pink-red colour (not the best description, I know!) and something that I would keep to hand in my bag for a quick make-up 'pick me up' throughout the day. It was just 99p when you buy another make-up product, so absolute bargain!

4. ColorTrend Nail Polish in 'Violet Freeze' (8ml)
This was just £1 and I thought I would give it a go. It comes out a really pretty blue/purple chilly winter colour. You do need 2 (maybe even 3) coats, but it is very nice and dries really quickly, also leaving a nice finish on the nail.

5. Eye primer in 'Light beige'
I have only ever tried the urban decay eye primer, so thought I would try this. Its a tiny pot, but you literally use the smallest amount, so it will last for ages. It gives a lovely, even base on the eye lid and doesn't crease, this was only £3.

6. ColorTrend Pressed Powder in 'Translucent'
Finally, I got this pressed powder. It is quite light, but I like that, as I don't like powders to be too cakey or thick. It sets make up in place very well and lasts all day. It comes with an applicator sponge, which I prefer not to use as I think a brush works better. This was £4.

All in all I am really happy with my little Avon haul!
I was very tempted to order from this months catalogue too, but I am going on holiday in 2 weeks and am trying to save up spending money, so I decided to be sensible.. (and maybe I'll just buy some things in Paris hehe!!)

Let me know if you have any experience with Avon products and what you would recommend/avoid as I'm sure I'll be tempted in tne next catalogue!!
Thanks for reading!

My current skincare favourites.

I have had a problem with my skin for the longest time :(

I used to suffer from really bad skin as a teenager and have tried so many different creams/moisturisers/face washes/spot treatments its just crazy!

Not many of them have worked that well and I've come to realise that keeping it simple is much more effective, and although I do still suffer from rubbish skin, its not too bad at the moment and it has been far worse!

So here are the products that I am currently enjoying as part of my skin care routine. There aren't too many steps in my routine, but I don't have that much time to dedicate too it (or much money to spend! :p)

* Boots No7 Beautiful Skin Quick Thinking Wipes

* Boots No7 Protect & Perfect Eye Cream

* Simple, Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser

* Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub

They seem to be working really well combined together. I don't tend to use the wipes too much, just if I have particularly stubborn make up or I'm feeling really lazy, but I find that they are really nice on the skin.

I am always on the lookout for good skincare products to try out, especially for spot-prone, combination skin, so let me know if you have any recommendations as I really don't know that much about skincare, just what I like and what does/doesn't work for me!

What to do on a Saturday?!

I actually have a Saturday off work for the first time in ages. And I have absolutely nothing to do! lol... How do people who have every weekend off manage to find things to occupy themselves!? I genuinely have no idea. So I am pretty much chilling out at home watching youtube videos and drinking tea :)

Amazing £2 MUA foundation!

I was browsing in Superdrug the other day and saw that MUA have a range of foundation from just £2 and at that price I had to try it, if only to say it wasn't any good, or to have as a back up... I was very pleasantly surprised!!

I picked up the 'Matte Perfect foundation: Shine Control' in the shade 'fair'... for £2
The consistency was really nice and smooth and the coverage, whilst not really heavy, was very good too. Especially when you use a good brush to buff it onto your skin. I use the Real Techniques buffing brush.

I work in a hotel/bar/restaurant, so was especially interested in the shine control aspect of the product as it can get really hot and horrible at work! Again, I was really pleasantly surprised. The tube says it 'lasts all day' and it really does.

I really can't believe it was just £2 and although I still love Rimmel Wake Me Up and various Maybelline foundations, this one is almost just a good...

I would definitely give it a try, even if you just keep it as a back up, or even to mix it in to a higher priced foundation to make it last longer?!

I am super happy with my new foundation and will definitely be re-purchasing this product.
