BLOGMAS! Day 12... Cheap Xmas Gift Ideas

I haven't even really started my Christmas shopping yet, which is pretty bad! But I have bought a few little bits and I thought I would show you 3 of the cheapest ones that are great stocking fillers...

First is the Make Up Revolution 'Eyes Like Angels' palette. It is £8 from Superdrug and you get 32 shades in a really lovely looking palette, which I think is great value. It is a great stocking filler and would be lovely to receive as a gift for al year round use. The eyeshadows from this range are very good quality, they blend really nicely and stay on for ages.

Secondly, it is another eyeshadow palette from Make Up Revolution - and I believe this is the dupe for the Naked 3 palette, so at just £4 you can't go wrong! Again from Superdrug, as this is an exclusive range to them - and again a great stocking filler.

And finally, for a super cheap but very cute little extra it is this set of 2 black and white polka dot tweezers from Primark at just £1. These would be great on their own as a stocking filler or as part of a little 'beauty bag' with some other bits thrown in!

Hopefully this is helpful and I will do another post once I have bought some more gifts!!

BLOGMAS! Day 11... New Winter Boots!!

I thought I would share my gorgeous new boots today! They are just the cutest and most comfortable boots I have had in ages.

When it is winter I think a nice pair of boots are a must.

These are a tan/brown ankle boot with buckling for decoration and a furry front-top part. I just love them! They are from New Look (I'm not sure how much, as they were a gift) ... although I have always found New Look shoes to be very reasonable and they are always very good quality.

What are your winter must haves for footwear?

BLOGMAS! Day 10... Costa Gingerbread Latte!!

One of my favourite things about the Christmas period is the drinks in Costa. They make me feel so festive and cosy!

I tried the gingerbread latte from Costa. It is delicious and SO adorable, you get a little gingerbread man in the top and lashings of cream. It was lovely, and so Christmassy!

Mike tried the praline cappuccino, which he said was nice too - you get gold sprinkles on it :)

What is your favourite festive drink? And is it from Costa? If not, please let me know, I really want to try lots of different ones!!

BLOGMAS! Day 9... Christmas hand cream!!

Hi everyone,

So with it being verrrrry chilly outside and because I work in a fairly demanding job (serving on tills/lifting/carrying etc) I really need to have a good hand cream to keep my hands soft and smooth..

This one from Avon is not only really thick and luxurious without being at all greasy or watery... its also got CHRISTMAS PACKAGING :D I LOVE IT!!!

Its a nice size too, small enough to carry in your handbag but also big enough to last, and it was just £1.99 from Avon :)

BLOGMAS! Day 8... My Winter Nail Polish, Tanya Burr 'Penguin Chic'

I love winter-time for wearing lovely deep nail polish colours; reds, purples, blues and blacks. But my favourite at the moment has to be 'Penguin Chic' from the Tanya Burr Collection (all of which I love but this one is my current fav!)

It is a gorgeous matte grey colour that is perfect for winter - understated, sophisticated and pretty at the same time.

It applies so nicely and has a really lovely finish to it.

Grey is not usually a colour I owuld reach for but I am just really into this at the moment!

The Tanya Burr collection has such gorgeous colours, some of my other favourites are Little Duck and Riding Hood - let me know what your favourites are? :)

BLOGMAS! Day 7... Cheap food and ICE CREAM!!

I went food shopping today and as it is still 10 days until payday I really didnt want to spend a lot, so was pretty happy with a really decent sized shop for just £25!

I thought I would share a couple of things I got:

Firstly, I got some absolute bargains reduced to clear, including 12 organic eggs, still useable within a week, for 38p!! A block of extra mature cheese for 55p and 4 lovely bread rolls for 40p. I absolutely love finding cheap deals like this. I paid £1.33 for what would have been around £6.80 :)

Also, something I HAVE to share is this amazing Ben and Jerry's 'Minter Wonderland' ice cream. It comes in super cute wintery packaging and is DELICIOUS!!!! Mint ice cream with huge chocolate chunks. I know ice cream isn't strictly 'winter food' - but when you're all snug and warm inside then who cares!? :)

I know some people find supermarkers boring but I love food shopping!

BLOGMAS! Day 5 & 6... The *12* tag

I have decided to combine days 5 and 6 of blogmas, mainly because I've just been at work so much and its meant I haven't really done anything too interesing :( but work is how I'm going to be paying for all my lovely Christmas treats and I have plenty of other things coming up in December, so its all good!

My friend Jenny tagged me in this little quiz so I thought I would do it today, this is the *12* tag - basically its just 12 questions about yourself, so here we go...
.
1. What’s your favourite drink? A good cup of tea. Definitely. (Like this lovely one here, made by my sister!)

2. Favourite song at the moment? I am loving Mayday Parade's latest album and my all time favourite band is Motion City Soundtrack, so anything by them :)

3. What would you name your children? I have a name in mind but don't want to share haha, or I think it'll be less special!! (Yeah, I know that makes me kinda *special* lol)

4. Do you participate in any sports? No :( I used to love netball at school but I don't do sports nowadays.

5. Favourite Book? So many!!! So instead I'll tell you what I'm currently reading, which is Citadel by Kate Mosse and Never Say Die by Tess Gerritsen.

6. Favourite Colour? Maybe purple... or green?

7. Favourite perfume? Calvin Klein 'Euphoria'and J-Lo 'Live;

8. Favourite holiday? Paris in September 2014 :) It was amazing... I also LOVED Florida as a destination.

9. Have you graduated High School? Yep

10. Favourite Restaurant? Pizza Tina in Paris, where we went on the night we got engaged. It is just so so nice and holds incredible memories!!!

11. Did you like school? Yeah :) mostly...

19. Favourite YouTubers? Brogan Tate, Fleur de Force and Tanya Burr

Well, thats it! I hope you enjoyed the tag and I invite you all to do it too :)

BLOGMAS! Day 4... Yorkshire fettle. Yum!

I thought I would share my lovely dinner that I had for BLOGMAS! Day 4...

I work 5/6 days a week from 3pm-11pm, so its really nice to have the chance to go out for something to eat or even a drink, so we decided to go for a bite to eat at The White Swan in Leeds.

I had the 'Yorkshire fettle and salad wrap' (which, interestingly, is actually feta cheese but made in Yorkshire... I have left the link to this below as I think it is delicious and I love supporting local produce and businesses!!)

Click here to have a look... Yorkshire Fettle Cheese <3

It was sooo nice. Served with twice cooked chips, a salad and a cup of spiced parsnip soup. It was just so lovely and really affordable. I would definitely reccommend both the cheese and the place!!

I love finding new places and new things to eat, so I really enjoyed this - and the soup was a lovely little extra as it has been so cold lately!

Let me know in the comments of any food recommendations, of if you have been out anywhere nice recently!

BLOGMAS! Day 3... Advent Calender!

Yeahhhh, I know its late, but I finally got an advent calender!!

I left it too late to get one before December and everywhere had sold out :( ...Fortunately, I popped into my local Sainsbury's and not only did they have some left, they were reduced because it was after December 1st!!

I'm really pleased, its not just Christmas without an advent calender.

Also, I get to have 3 chocolates on the first day :P

P.S.... The radiator is not on in this picture or that would just be chocolate disaster!!

Does everyone else have an advent calender? And if so, which one? I think Cadbury's are the best!

BLOGMAS! Day 2... Everyday face make up.

Today for BLOGMAS! Day 2... I thought I would share my current face make-up that I use pretty much every day.

It is really quite basic, there are only 3 products that I use mostly.

I normally wash my face with a face wash and use a neutrogena moisturiser (either the spot stress control or the lovely grapefruit one)

I then apply the MUA matte perfect foundation in 'fair' - this creates a really nice base to work on, however, it is very slightly too dark for my skin so I use the MUA undress your skin illuminating foundation in 'beige' over the top. This is actually very slightly too pale for me and fortunately the 2 foundations make a really good colour for me. Also, because I am layering up the foundations they stay in place all day.

Finally, I use the Rimmel wake me up concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes... and thats it :)

Its a very simple process and means it takes hardly any time, gives a great base and makes my skin feel really nice. I would definitely recommed the MUA products as they're so affordable and very good quality.

BLOGMAS! Day 1... Happy December

Happy December!!

I am so happy its December, its my favourite month and favourite time of the year. There's Christmas, my birthday, generally wintery and its just great!
I thought I would try and do blogmas throughout December as I really love watching my favourite youtubers do 'vloagmas' and I really wanted to give it a go.

So the first day in December myself and Mike have had plans for a good while now and it meant we were going for a trip to Manchester to watch 2 amazing bands: Icon for Hire and Hollywood Undead. We were going to stay overnight in a hotel but when we found out that we could get a bus back after the gig and it only came to £13 return fare we thought it was ideal.

The gig itself was at Manchester Academy 1, which is situated within the student union of Manchester University. It was absolutely amazing. Icon for Hire were the support act, but just as good, (if not better :P) than the main act... who were also brilliant.

They also served drinks in 2 pint glasses so you don't have to keep going back to the bar!! How great is that. The glasses are the size of my head!!  (See picture, hehe)

So that was my first day of December. Not very Christmas-sy, but there's plenty of time for that!
I would love to  hear what you have all been up to in December so far!

Zoella Fizz Bar!

I was so excited when I finally found the Zoella beauty range in my local Superdrug that I just had to buy something to try it out. I went for the fizz bar as I've heard so many people rave about it and the packaging is just adorable! Also, with it having 8 chunks in the bar you get a few uses out of it.

Like I said, the packaging is really lovely and looks great on the bathroom shelf and is a definite attraction when purchasing in the store.

Upon opening the packaging the initial smell is just so lovely. The best way I can describe it is a gorgeous fresh cotton/linen/clean white smell (that's a very random description I know! - I just dont agree with the reviews that habe said its floral or fruity, to me its just not.)

I used 2 chunks in the bath. Admittedly, it doesn't add a lot of fizz, any bubbles or any colour to your bath, but it does leave a really smooth feel to the water and is a really pleasant experience.

I would recommend this product, if only for the packaging and scent, and it would be perfect as a Christmas gift as it is only £5.

I'm really tempted by the lovely Zoella beauty candle and the 2 gorgeous make up bags!

What does everybody else think of the range? Or the fizz bar in particular?

My new favourite mascara! Boots No7

I have struggled to find a really great mascara for ages. Most that I have used are acceptable. They do the job but they're nothing special. I even tried the Benefit 'They're real' that everyone has raved about, but I was actually really disappointed with it. So when I used up the last of 'They're real' I reached for a small size mascara from a gift set I got last Christmas of Boots No7. The 'No7 Extreme Length Extend.'
Initially I just thought this would make a good mascara until I went and bought another, but immediately after I used it I was SO impressed that I would definitely consider it to be my new favourite!

The consistency is lovely, not too thick but not watery, it applies like a dream and coats all the lashes to make them look really full and long and it feels really light and not clumpy or heavy at all.
Also, the brush is great. It is a rubber textured brush and the fact that it is really small means you can really get into the base of the lash and work it all the way up (Like I said, this is a small version from a gift set, so can't comment on the large one, but I have high hopes!)

Overall, I am so pleased with my new mascara - especially because it was sitting in my make up collection unused for ages!

I would love to hear what your favourite mascara is, or if you have one that I should definitely avoid!?

DIY/Cheap holiday minatures!

So I've just got back from a trip to Paris, which was amazing!!! (Blog post and photos coming soon...!) and I thought I would just do a little post about the holiday minatures that I took and how to make it nice and cheap!
So, firstly I bought a pack of 6 small bottles from PoundLand (For £1, naturally!)
By dispensing my larger bottles into these small ones I saved so much money, as minatures in Boots and Superdrug can be nearly £3 each. This way I got to still use my own products but in small version :)

I also have a handy little stash of shampoos and moisturisers etc that I have collected when I've been to hotels before and liked them enough to keep, so I took along a few of them aswell.

I know these little tips seems really obvious but it saves so much money and means your luggage is much lighter and you have more space for clothes (or souvenirs and shopping!!)

August favourites!

Neutrogena visibly clear pink grapefruit daily scrub
This is one of my favourite face washes as it smells really fruity and lovely. It exfoliates
the skin and just leaves me feeling really fresh and clean.

Boots Dry Shampoo
I was in Boots looking for a dry shampoo. I don't like to wash my hair every day but sometimes
it's nice to give it a freshen up. Initially, I was looking at the batiste dry shampoo but they
were quite pricey, then I noticed boots do their own brand one. It was only around £1.89 for a
large size and I got some money off with a hair-care offer, so it was super cheap! I can't
praise it enough! The scent is quite coconut-based and it gives my hair an instant lift after
you brush it through! Would definitely recommend and I will be re-purchasing it.

Black Hair Clip
During summer I have been wanting to keep my hair out of my face when it is too hot
and bobbles can damage your hair so I've been loving this plain black claw-clip. It's in black
so goes with everything and was only £1 in a pack from Primark.

Maybelline 24 hour super stay powder and better skin foundation
I have been using these together for a lovely base to my make up. Easy to use and long lasting,
they are definitely something I would recommend, and the powder comes with a handy mirror!

Real techniques brush
A lovely brush I have been enjoying, I have used this to apply the make up above ^^ It creates
 a really professional looking finish.

Gold tangle teezerI love my tangle teezer sooo much. It makes my hair lovely and soft and gets rid of any
tangles/knottiness.

And finally...
I am a massive book lover and throughout August I have been LOVING the Rizzoli and Isles
series by Tess Gerritsen. A friend at work recommended 'The Sinner,' which I thoroughly enjoyed
and since then I have been looking in charity shops to pick any others up. Most of them are only about £2.
Unfortunately, I haven't been reading them in the right order, which is a bit silly, but not too much of a problem.
If you like crime/detective fiction that's really well written then give these a go!

Thankyou for reading! I would love to know any of your favourites!

Avon haul and products review!

I recently had a little splurge in my Avon catalogue as there were loads of products that looked great. The downfall of a catalogue is that I want to buy EVERYTHING! So I had to set myself a limit on spending, which was only £20... and for that £20 I got all of this.... :D

I was really impressed at how much I got for the money. And after trying everything, I love it all!!
So, I got: (Pictures below!)

1. Speed dry 30 seconds Nail Polish in 'Presto Plum' (12ml)
This is a really lovely dark purple colour, it genuinely dries in 30 seconds and is very good quality. It was £3 and for a large 12ml bottle I was very pleased. It will be a great colour for autumn/winter.

2. Avon 'Rare Diamonds' fragrance (50ml)
I picked this out at random for a pleasant fragrance that I could wear out and about and not feel too guilty about wasting my expensive perfume. Its a really classic, but fresh, scent and suitable for day or night. It was only £8

3. ColorTrend Lipstick in 'Peony'
This is such a lovely colour. A plummy pink-red colour (not the best description, I know!) and something that I would keep to hand in my bag for a quick make-up 'pick me up' throughout the day. It was just 99p when you buy another make-up product, so absolute bargain!

4. ColorTrend Nail Polish in 'Violet Freeze' (8ml)
This was just £1 and I thought I would give it a go. It comes out a really pretty blue/purple chilly winter colour. You do need 2 (maybe even 3) coats, but it is very nice and dries really quickly, also leaving a nice finish on the nail.

5. Eye primer in 'Light beige'
I have only ever tried the urban decay eye primer, so thought I would try this. Its a tiny pot, but you literally use the smallest amount, so it will last for ages. It gives a lovely, even base on the eye lid and doesn't crease, this was only £3.

6. ColorTrend Pressed Powder in 'Translucent'
Finally, I got this pressed powder. It is quite light, but I like that, as I don't like powders to be too cakey or thick. It sets make up in place very well and lasts all day. It comes with an applicator sponge, which I prefer not to use as I think a brush works better. This was £4.

All in all I am really happy with my little Avon haul!
I was very tempted to order from this months catalogue too, but I am going on holiday in 2 weeks and am trying to save up spending money, so I decided to be sensible.. (and maybe I'll just buy some things in Paris hehe!!)

Let me know if you have any experience with Avon products and what you would recommend/avoid as I'm sure I'll be tempted in tne next catalogue!!
Thanks for reading!

My current skincare favourites.

I have had a problem with my skin for the longest time :(

I used to suffer from really bad skin as a teenager and have tried so many different creams/moisturisers/face washes/spot treatments its just crazy!

Not many of them have worked that well and I've come to realise that keeping it simple is much more effective, and although I do still suffer from rubbish skin, its not too bad at the moment and it has been far worse!

So here are the products that I am currently enjoying as part of my skin care routine. There aren't too many steps in my routine, but I don't have that much time to dedicate too it (or much money to spend! :p)

* Boots No7 Beautiful Skin Quick Thinking Wipes

* Boots No7 Protect & Perfect Eye Cream

* Simple, Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser

* Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub

They seem to be working really well combined together. I don't tend to use the wipes too much, just if I have particularly stubborn make up or I'm feeling really lazy, but I find that they are really nice on the skin.

I am always on the lookout for good skincare products to try out, especially for spot-prone, combination skin, so let me know if you have any recommendations as I really don't know that much about skincare, just what I like and what does/doesn't work for me!

What to do on a Saturday?!

I actually have a Saturday off work for the first time in ages. And I have absolutely nothing to do! lol... How do people who have every weekend off manage to find things to occupy themselves!? I genuinely have no idea. So I am pretty much chilling out at home watching youtube videos and drinking tea :)

Saturday 9 August 2014

Amazing £2 MUA foundation!

I was browsing in Superdrug the other day and saw that MUA have a range of foundation from just £2 and at that price I had to try it, if only to say it wasn't any good, or to have as a back up... I was very pleasantly surprised!!

I picked up the 'Matte Perfect foundation: Shine Control' in the shade 'fair'... for £2
The consistency was really nice and smooth and the coverage, whilst not really heavy, was very good too. Especially when you use a good brush to buff it onto your skin. I use the Real Techniques buffing brush.

I work in a hotel/bar/restaurant, so was especially interested in the shine control aspect of the product as it can get really hot and horrible at work! Again, I was really pleasantly surprised. The tube says it 'lasts all day' and it really does.

I really can't believe it was just £2 and although I still love Rimmel Wake Me Up and various Maybelline foundations, this one is almost just a good...

I would definitely give it a try, even if you just keep it as a back up, or even to mix it in to a higher priced foundation to make it last longer?!

I am super happy with my new foundation and will definitely be re-purchasing this product.

Rita Ora Nail Polish '403 Oragasm'

I painted my nails today with a colour from the Rita Ota collection from Rimmel. Because its summer I thought I would go for the shade '403 Oragasm,' which is a really lovely orange colour.

I really like everything about this product. The application was smooth and easy, it dried within about a minute and only needed one coat. Also, the colour is really fresh and vibrant. I would definitely purchase another product from this range!

The Body Shop - Honeymania Body Butter

Just thought I would do a little post on the amaaaazing new product I've been using.... The Body Shop 'Honeymania' body butter.

I was lucky enough to get a few of the Honeymania products sent through the post, but they've all been sitting in the bathroom unused for ages as I have so many other things to use up first.

I tried the lip butter a while ago and thought it was really nice, fresh smelling and very hydrating, but I have recently started on the body butter after using up my soap and glory body moisturiser - and wow!

It is just SO SO nice

The texture in the pot is quite hard, definitely not a 'lotion' feeling, but when it goes onto your skin it is the softest, creamiest product and smells really, really good! I applied it this morning after my shower and now, 12 hours later, my skin feels really lovely and soft.

I would definitely recommend this product and even though it is not the cheapest of products at £13, I think its well worth it.

I've included the link for you to go and have a look!

See HERE for yourself :)

Two days off in the sunshine!

So the last 2 days have been my 2 days off work for the week (thank god! hehe) and I just spent
some time with my family.
On Wednesday I went to Scarborough for the day (about 30 minutes from Whitby, where I live) - which was really nice, we all just mooched around, had a few drinks and a look round. Then we went back to Whitby and decided to go out for dinner at a bar on the harbour-side called 'The moon and sixpence' - its about 5 minutes walk from home and does THE nicest food, I had halloumi fajitas and then creme brulee, cannot praise it enough! yum yummm.

The NEXT day was kind of similar but we just wandered around Whitby in the sunshine making the most of the day off! I had an ice-cream (looking a bit like a toursit here!! lol) and then spent most of the afternoon/evening watching tv and playing on the ps3 :)

So all in all had a really good couple of days. now back to work  - but you need to earn the pennies somehow!!
What does anyone else do on their days off?! As I really struggle to find things to do and sometime end up wasting them!!

Daily blog!

So I thought I would give 'daily-blogging' a try and set myself the challenge to do it every day for a week, without fail! Its not exactly super hard to do, but it just means actually finding time and sitting down to write something.
So here it goes...
Well, I was supposed to be having a really productive morning cleaning the flat and organising bills etc, but I got bored and spent all morning playing Guitar Hero. Oops!! (But muchhhh more fun :D!)

I have work pretty much every single night from 4pm(ish) as I work in a hotel/restaurant/bar, so most of my days are spent trying to be productive, failing, then being online until I realise its work time!

This isn't a very interesting one as its just a little blog to get the daily blogging rolling! Soo, I am going to cook some pizza and continue with the afternoon of internet-ing :)

Random hello!

I've not blogged for aaaages, I keep saying I'll get round to it but then get distracted with work, or my kindle, or work... or my kindle :P I am a super boring book geek I'm afraid!

Sooo, I'm really excited for the next few months, a new job and moving house is on the cards and just general summer time!

Ohh, I also went to Slam Dunk North in Leeds last weekend! Which was amazing!!! I've been for the last 3 years and its become sort of a tradition. This year I was mostly looking forward to seeing Motion City Soundtrack (favvvvourite band ever!!! :) <3) and The Ataris, but I was super impressed by some of the new bands I heard..... but thats for the next post I think :P

I'm going to make a cup of tea!

Make-up free days.

It sounds really random on a beauty-based blog to talk about going make up free, but its seriously something I've been loving recently.
For such a long time I've been concerned with wearing make up to make my skin look better or to cover spots or to 'bring out my eyes' or whatever else the reason... But as I've grown up I've really realised that getting outside in the fresh air with a clean, clear face and a slick of moisturiser is the best thing for healthy skin.
I also feel really empowered when I do it, as if to say, 'This is me...'
I mean, who really needs to go to the supermarket with a full face of make up on?? Its daft, a waste of time adn effort and a waste of make up! And actually, when you do do your make up for a night out or for work etc it makes you feel even nicer.
Anyway, rambling over for now, but I seriously recommend you try it. Even just for one day a week...or one 'activity' a week, like going to the supermarket.

MUA nail polish for spring time!

Just a quick one today to review my newest favourite nail polish. It is the 'Pistachio Ice Cream' from MUA.

I picked this up for £1 in Superdrug and I am so impressed with how it looks. For £1 you might worry that it wouldn't be very good coverage, but it's really brilliant and after a whole day it hasn't chipped at all.

Its also the perfect colour for coming into spring time :D

For the price you really cannot beat MUA!

(PS. Please excuse my bad application of said nail polish, I was in a bit of a rush to get to work... I'll re-do it when I have time! haha)

February favourites!

Hi everyone! Seems like ages since I blogged, but everything has been really busy recently so I just haven't had much chance!
Anyway, I thought I would do a little one just to get me back into it, so this is what my favourite beauty products have been for February.
Firstly is the 'Olay essentials, complete care moistursing cream with touch of foundation' (mouthful!!) - Basically it's a tinted moisturiser and I thought I'd try it as some days I find foundation to feel just a bit too heavy on my skin so I thought I'd go for a lighter feeling option and it feels really nice! My only gripe is that the 'fair' still seems quite dark. But it is a really nice product with Max Factor foundation in there.
Secondly, I bought a new eye cream. It. Is. Awesome!!! Its the 'Simple, radiance brightening eye cream' - it should have been £7.49 in Boots but I got it on clearance for £2!!! It just makes your skin feel so bright and awake. I seriously love it. Can't recommend it enough!
And finally, is the 'Umberto Gianni, salon shine glossing mist.' This product is just really lovely for spraying on your hair just after straightening/styling and it makes your hair look really sleek and silky without the heaviness of hair spray. I've also had loads of people telling me that my hair smells really nice. Its just a lovely product.

So there wasn't really much else to talk about but like I said, I just wanted to blog about something today to get one out there and get back into the habit :)

I always love hearing what other people's monthly favourites are, so leave a comment letting me know :D

Favourite lip products this week - MUA and Boots No. 7

I thought I would do a quick blog post on the 2 lip products that I've been loving this week.

The first one is the product that I bought in my last blog and its the MUA lipstick in a gorgeous deep red colour that they call 'Shade 1' - its such a gorgeous colour and its so soft and lovely to apply, I felt really great wearing it. The only drawback is that you have to re-apply it a little more than you might want, but I didn't mind as I love putting lipstick on :P haha.

Secondly, is Boots No. 7 High Shine Lipgloss in 'Whisper' - this is totally different to the lipstick. Its a pinky peach gloss with a hint of glitter, but still great for everyday use. It smells really nice and has its own applicator.

I've put a pic on of the 2 looks, just to compare them and so you can see what they look like :)

MUA mini make up haul!

I went on a quick shopping trip today into Superdrug and picked up a few things from the MUA range.
I really love so many of the products from this range, they are so cheap but I think the quality is great and because of the price it means you can afford to try out lots of different things!

Primarily, I was looking for some new eyeshadow, but couldn't quite decide on which shade. I found the MUA 'Undress me too' palette, which has 12 different shades and is only £4! There is even a mini tutorial on the back of the case telling you how to blend some of the colours together.

I love my MUA blusher in 'candyfloss' so I thought I would try the 'cupcake' one as it is a really nice peachy colour and it is an unbelievable £1... which is just crazy! The quality of the blush is great, too, and it stays on the cheek pretty much all day long!

Superdrug have currently got an offer on MUA products where if you spend £6 you get a 'Colour blast eyeshadow tint' for free...

So!... I'd only spent £5 and when I saw that the great selection of lipsticks are only £1, so to make it up to £6 I picked up a gorgeous deep red coloured lipstick in 'Shade 1'
MUA lipsticks are really nice and pigmented and you really do have enough colour on the lips with just one application!

Then, like I said, I got my free MUA colour blast eyeshadow tint. I went for the 'Loud' colour, which is a lovely purple. The tints are in the form of a chubby stick, so there's not as much waste of product when it gets near the end and they're really easy to apply.

I cant wait to try out all my new products , and can't believe I got all this for just £6, I'll definitely be popping back to Superdrug soon!
I will use some of these products and let you know in one of my next blogs what I thought.

Saturday! Make up for work and new accessories.

So Saturday is here! But unfortunately, for me, it still means work :( I am sooo jealous of people who get to have weekends off and you always hear them saying 'ooh I'm so happy its Friday!' - but nevermind!
Just because I'm going to work it doesn't mean I can't still enjoy trying different make up looks out, so I thought I'd share mine for today:

I'm using the Rimmel Wake-Me-Up foundation in 'true ivory,' Rimmel exaggerate eye liner in '001 - Black,' a mixture of champagne, purple and black eyeshadow from the BobbyPin palette from Boots, all blended together (this is quite an old palette, not sure if they still sell it!) MUA blush in 'candyfloss' and a gorgeous new lipstick I got from Rimmel (again!) in 'Rose passion.' It's such a pretty colour - just a little tip I use is to cover it with a tiny amount of vaseline or clear lip gloss as it keeps it in place longer!

This is quite a basic look, but I always feel nice when I've made a bit of an effort for work.

I also just have to share these super cute accessories that I bought this week.
One is a lovely large black rose neclace on a silver chain and the other is a set of 2 hair slides with Jack Skellington on them (from Nightmare before Christmas)

They are both from 'The Skullery' which is an ebay shop that do absolutely loads of accessories, so I would definitely recommend going to have a look!

Anyway, like I said, I am going off to work.
Thanks for reading today :D

Random Blog, Lunch and Make up of the day.

So it's been a slow week, mostly taken up by being ill with a cold, so today I made an effort to get dressed (not just in pyjamas like for the last 4 days!) and go to town for lunch, hoping that the fresh air would do me good.

I've especially been loving Maybelline's BabyLips in 'Cherry Me' at the moment. I think its great for a half-way between a lip balm and a lip gloss/stick as it gives a nice colour but is really juicy and nourishing for your lips; especially for winter when you need a bit of extra moisturising!

This is me wearing said BabyLips.  I'm also wearing Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid foundation in ivory, Rimmel 'Exaggerate' liquid eyeliner, MUA blush in candyfloss, Collection 'Lasting Perfection Concealer' in Medium 3 and Rimmel 'Stay Matte' powder in peach glow.
It's not a particularly exciting make up look, just an every day, basic look.

I live in Whitby, North Yorkshire, so there are a fair few cafes and places to eat lunch but one of my favourites is definitely 'Java' on Flowergate, they do the nicest paninis and coffee. So thats what I went for...

Sweet chilli cheese panini, salad and Asian slaw and a skinny latte. Sooo nice. I would definitely recommend this place, its super tasty and has free wi-fi!!

Anyway, apart from work, thats really about all I've done this week, so unfortunately there's not much more to tell. Hopeefully next time there'll be more to talk about, for now I'm going off to tend to my cold and flu!
